The conference on the use of Intestinal Ultrasound (IUS) in Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD) aims to be a crucial platform for deepening knowledge and discussing the clinical applications of this emerging technology. IBD presents significant challenges for physicians due to its complex and chronic nature. IUS offers a non-invasive, safe, and repeatable imaging modality that is gaining recognition for its essential role in diagnosing, monitoring, and managing IBD.
The conference is structured into various sessions covering a wide range of topics, from the history of IUS in IBD to its practical applications in different clinical conditions. Esteemed experts will outline the objectives and will provide a historical overview of IUS in IBD, establishing an essential knowledge base to understand the evolution and impact of this technology. Subsequent sessions will delve into the use of IUS in CD and UC, with presentations from international experts sharing their experiences and best practices from various regions of the world. Special attention will be given to unique situations in both conditions, including the assessment of strictures in CD and the use of IUS in pediatric cases.
The conference will culminate in a session of synthesis and closing remarks, summarizing the key points of the discussions and outlining future prospects for IUS in IBD.
